Day 1 : Arrive Paro – Thimphu & Thimphu Sightseeing :
On arrival at the Paro International Airport your Tour Guide from Trip 4 Joy travel agent, will receive you and after completion of airport formalities, and drive to Thimpu. Check into your hotel at Thimpu. After a refreshment, sightseeing tour. Visit King’s Memorial Chorten (Monument), Chang Gangkha Monastery (one of the oldest monastery in the valley), National Zoo (contains national animal takin), National Library, housing an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts & BBS Tower. Overnight stay at the hotel in Thimpu.
Day 2 : Thimphu & Thimphu Sightseeing :
After breakfast,sightseeing tour Thimphu which includes at visit to : The National Institute of Traditional Medicine (outside only), where Bhutan’s famed traditional herbal medicines are compounded and dispensed.The Institute for Zorig Chusum (commonly known as the Painting School),National Textile Museum .You will also see people weaving with intricate designs.The folk heritage museum, The School of Traditional Painting of Arts and Crafts, Private weaving centre at Changzamtok where you will find women weaving beautiful and colorful silk and cotton textiles to be mostly worn by women.The Takin Preserve, which houses the national animal the Takin that is only found in Bhutan. The drive further up to Sangaygang to enjoy the bird’s eye view of Thimphu valley. Tashichhodzong, a fortress of the glorious religion. Government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local Bhutanese craft shops, to browse through examples of Bhutan’s fine traditional arts. Here you can buy hand-woven Bhutanese textiles, thangkha paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelry, and other interesting items made from local materials. Drive to Kuensel Phodrang and take a short leisure hike to the Kuensel Phodrang Nature Park and enjoy the full view of Thimphu Valley below.Visit Buddha Point and offer your prayers to the largest Buddha statue in the country and walk around to enjoy the great view of Thimphu valley below.Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3 : Thimphu – Paro :
Morning transfer to Paro (65 kms – 1.15 hrs drive). Visit the Ta Dzong, a circular fortress that once protected this valley from the Tibetan invasion. It is now the National Museum with an excellent collection of Bhutanese antiquities. A short drive back to the Paro RinpungDzong which was built and consecrated in 1646 by ShabdrungNgawangNamgyal. This Dzong is also the administrative seat of the district of Paro and it also contains a state monastic community of about 200 members. Afternoon will drive up to visit DrugyelDzong which is located upstream to the end of the paved road. In fine weather the Mount Jumolhari. This mountain which marks the frontier with Tibet, is sacred ,as are all the mountains in Bhutan and it is the dwelling place for Goddess Jhomo. Overnight stay at Paro.
Day 4 : Paro – Taktsang
After breakfast, travel to the base camp and then hike up to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). The climb up to the viewpoint will take approx 3 hours. Enjoy the stunning view of the Monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava flew on the back of a tiger . Walk back to the road point and drive to hotel for lunch. Drive to Drukgyel Dzong (fortress) now in ruins..In the afternoon, visit Kichu temple one of the 108 temples built by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo.Visit the Dungte Lhakhang.Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 5 : Paro Departure
After breakfast, your tour guide will escort you to the Paro International airport for Drukair flight to your onward destinations
