Day 1 : Arrive Paro
On arrival at the Paro Airport your Tour Guide from Trip 4 Joy travel agent, will receive you and drive to your hotel. Check into your hotel at Paro. After a refreshment, visit the National Museum, housed in the Ta Dzong, as a watchtower for the Paro Dzong. Here an intriguing collection of artifacts provide a wonderful introduction to the rich culture and heritage of the kingdom.Walk down to Paro Dzong, a fine example of Bhutanese historic architecture. From the Dzong, walk further down to Nyamai Zampa, a traditional cantilever bridge. Rinpung Dzong, the Dzong is now being used as an administration center and school for monks.Then walk down to Rimpung Bridge (Traditonal Bridge), oldest bridge in Bhutan. In the evening stroll through Paro town and you may visit local shops.Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 2 : Paro – Thimphu & Thimphu Sightseeing :
After breakfast, travel to Thimphu and Check into your hotel at Thimphu.After a refreshment, sightseeing tour at Thimphu .Visit to The National Library, housing an extensive collection of priceless Buddhist manuscripts. The National Institute of Traditional Medicine (outside only), where Bhutan’s famed traditional herbal medicines are compounded and dispensed.The Institute for Zorig Chusum (commonly known as the Painting School).National Textile Museum which is a good place to see the art of traditional weaving being kept alive and preserved through exhibition. The folk heritage museum, on outdoor museum that gives an insight into rural life.The School of Traditional Painting of Arts and Crafts.Private weaving centre at Changzamtok where you will find women weaving beautiful and colorful silk.The Takin Preserve, which houses the national animal the Takin that is only found in Bhutan. The drive further up to Sangaygang to enjoy the bird’s eye view of Thimphu valley.The Memorial Chorten as a memorial for the third King of the country.Tashichhodzong, a fortress of the glorious religion. Drive to Kuensel Phodrang and take a short leisure hike to the Kuensel Phodrang Nature Park and enjoy the full view of Thimphu Valley below.Visit Buddha Point and offer your prayers to the largest Buddha statue in the country and walk around to enjoy the great view of Thimphu valley below.Overnight at hotel in Thimphu.
Day 3 : Thimphu – Punakha/Wangdue :
After early breakfast, travel to Punakha through Dochula Pass . if you have clear sky, the view of the Himalayan ranges is spectacular. Visit the beautiful 108 Chortens built on the hill by Her majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck for the security and well being of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan.Then have refreshment at Dochula Pass resort. After lunch Drive onto Punakha, the old capital of Bhutan and presently the winter residence of the central monk body. Visit Punakha Dzong, located on the island of the Phochu (Male River) and mochhu (Female River) and also visit the Dho Jha Gha Lam Temple.Then travel to Wangdue, visit Wangdue Dzong, situated on a ridge overlooking a river junction.In the evening, walk through the Metshina Village and take a 20-minute walk through the rice fields to the Divine Madman’s Monastery-Chhimi Lhakhang, famously known for its fertility shrine, where couples unable to concieve come here for blessing.Also visit the local market.Overnight at Wangdue/Punakha.
Day 4 : Punakha/Wangdue – Paro :
After breakfast, walk to Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten (50 Minutes) temple ,Visit Wangdue Dzong and drive back to Paro driving through the idyllic countryside. Dotted with villages and paddy fields, crossing rivers and nature forests to Paro. Evening free for strolling around Paro town, shopping, etc. Overnight at Paro.
Day 5 : Paro – Taktsang
After breakfast, travel to the base camp and then hike up to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). The climb up to the viewpoint will take approx 3 hours. Enjoy the stunning view of the Monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava flew on the back of a tiger . Walk back to the road point and drive to hotel for lunch. Drive to Drukgyel Dzong (fortress) now in ruins..In the afternoon, visit Kichu temple one of the 108 temples built by the Tibetan King Songsten Gampo.Visit the Dungte Lhakhang.Overnight at hotel in Paro.
Day 6 : Paro Departure
After breakfast, your tour guide will escort you to the Paro International airport for Drukair flight to your onward destinations
